As a boat owner I wanted to drop you a quick note about a Bermuda company recently started by a good friend of mine, Mark Procter. Sea Assist is similar to Sea Tow in the states. They provide towing if you are disabled, among many other services.

All boats will have trouble at some point. Signing up for an annual policy is considerably less expensive than even a single tow or call for assistance. More than that, I've witnessed Mark put together a company that is genuinely driven by customer service and reasonable costs, rare in the Bermuda boating world. The Premium Package is $350 per year.

The benefits go beyond the basic outline on their web site (towing/gas/battery jump). They check your boat every other week at the mooring and call or e-mail you that all is okay. If they find a problem they can solve it. Nice in the summer, but great during the off-season when your boat gets less attention. Also, they have subcontracting relationships where Sea Assist can arrange everything from engine/bilge/cleaning/waxing/cover/ upholstery, etc.

I'm confident it would be a good investment for you and it will be great to watch a new company grow that was formed with a commitment to customer service and a business plan that doesn't seek to squeeze every dollar possible from the boat owner.
